Dunlop Tortex Standard Picks Reviews 4

I'm not gonna lie, I use these picks because of James Hetfield. When I was first learning guitar I was always given a huge variety of picks and used all of them, however, everytime I saw a video of mr hetfield riffing his own face off I always noticed the green little thing he had in his hand and thought, I should try it and see what it's all ab... I bought a 12 pack of these at Mars Music after a friend at school recommend them and because I also have some nylon picks by Dunlop and I like them a lot due to the "cats tongue" grip. I paid $4.23 with tax for them. The ones I bought are .88 gauge.

Well my friend plays allot of Blink-182, Green Day, etc. and these picks seem to have a darker tone than my nylons but I do play some very thin nylons because I like them for the funky click in them for funk. They also supposedly have "maximum memory and minimum wear" which to me sounds attractive considering my nylons don't (but they lasted awhile for about 3 weeks so I shouldn’t complain).

They are quite expensive, about 35 cents per pick but I think if you buy a bigger pack of them you could get a better price (Also as of writing all Dunlop picks are on sale at Musicians Friend for 2.99 with free shipping, Click on the Musicians Friend at the upper left hand corner on this page to visit there). The feel is a little weird to me but I can get used to that.

Well it has well made materials for a pick. But I received 1 or 2 defective picks, One of them had a small chunk of a corner taken out and the other had some of its printing taken off but they are just picks so they will be fine.

Overall these picks will take little time getting used to but these are much better than celluloid picks. I highly recommend them if you play rock, metal, punk, etc.
